Midi files are small music files that are usually piano sounds or unsophisticated organ sounds. Occasionally you find very excellent orchestral midi sequences, most often of patriotic or seasonal music. These are very useful for websites on holiday occasions. The "Music Box Dancer" tune on the Tags and Javascript page is a midi sequence. John Popp's Ragtime Midi
File Collection has been hosted by Primeline Chemical Systems for years but the products are no longer available. John, however, has kept the ragtime music collection on line for all to enjoy. There is a wealth of music on this site and it should be utilized by all who love ragtime. Contained in this collection are the first ragtime midis I found on the Internet - and hundreds more.
Warren Trachtman's midi files were the first rag time midis I found on the Internet.
Eugene Hayek is an expert at the theater pipe organ and has put together an excellent site for this venue.
John Roache's midi files are another excellent set of sequences. He passed away in 1999 but not before leaving us with these wonderful pieces of ragtime music.
Free Midi Songs is one of the most formidable rspositories of all types of midi music with over 11,000 midi files and it is free.
Free Midi Zone has a very well kept top ten list and they have over 1400 free files.
